Om Sri Sri Guru Podo Borosha Matroshar

Sometimes one of those surprising encounters happens that changes your life. One day someone said to me “it would be good for you to do some yoga”.

I would not have thought at that moment that my whole life is about to change and will soon begin to unfold in a way that nourishes this practice and makes it the center of my daily life. Our only practice of Hatha Yoga, but yoga in its broad sense, as a synonym for spiritual practice. The practice of Yoga is a path where we learn to master the body and master the mind in search of the Unity of being. The meaning of the word YOGA is union. This union can take place within us when all the forces that constitute us come into balance. This practice allows us to distance ourselves from identifying with what is physical, emotional and mental within us, and understand what the spiritual world is. The person who gave me the advice to do “a little yoga” was Parvathy Baul. I first met Parvathy Maa in France. Her strength, harmony and contagious joy made me want to know more about her. More than his art and his musical performances, it was his state of being that intrigued and enchanted me. I wanted to know The Source. Parvathy started learning classical Indian arts at the age of 4. Kathak dance, then, like her big sister, the songs of Tagore and finally art studies at Kala Bhavan University in Shantiniketan punctuated her journey and were her passions. But, at the age of 16, the encounter with the Basel tradition transported him to the paths of the barefoot, of the itinerant yogis-mystics-poets-singers. And so, she too, guided by her Master Guru Sri Sanatan Das Thakur Baul, left the known roads of society to explore the inner path to meet the Man of the Heart, the Moner Manush, who is the immanent principle of every human being.
